About Us

“G・E・N” comes from the first three letters shared by the German Genie (“genius”), German genuin (“authentic, honest”), and English genuine (“pure”), all from the same root. We then added the “I” from Genie to give the name a bright, child-friendly sound. Together, GENI suggests discovering children’s natural abilities through simple forms (“pure”), carefully chosen materials, and precise craftsmanship (“authentic” and “honest”).

Brain development is most significant during the ages of 0 to 6. Educational toys, such as those crafted by GENI, are specifically designed to foster growth and learning during this crucial
period.

GENI's toys are developed by experienced educators and extensively tested in our own authentic classroom setting. This ensures that our products not only provide genuine educational benefits but also offer enduring enjoyment for children over an extended period.

At GENI, we craft toys as cherished companions designed to spark imagination, empathy and curiosity. Our products fuel cognitive growth that carries into adulthood, multiplying benefits for families and society alike. Simply put, we aim to provide joyful, educational moments that offer lasting benefits for every child.

Our Company

Our story began in 1988, inside our own early childhood education center in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. Convinced that children learn best through play, we set out to design toys that mirror that process-engaging all five senses, sparking curiosity, and fitting perfectly in small hands. Partnering with our early-childhood educators, we refined each prototype through daily classroom feedback. The result is a range of wooden toys that build spatial awareness, predictive thinking, fine-motor coordination and broader cognitive skills, all presented in colours that capture young eyes. Decades on, those foundational classroom insights still guide us, inspiring educational toys renowned for lasting, dependable quality.
